EN ESTE SENTIDO, EL MAR MEDITERRANEO HA SIDO RECONOCIDO COMO UN FOCO ("HOTSPOT") DE DICHO CAMBIO CLIMATICO GLOBAL, ESPERANDOSE UNOS LOS IMPACTOS REGIONALES QUE YA SON ESPECIALMENTE DETECTABLES Y QUE SE INCREMENTARAN DE FORMA MAS ACELERADA A LO LARGO DE TODO EL SIGLO 21 RESPECTO A OTRAS REGIONES D ELA TIERRA. TODAVIA SE NECESITA COMPRENDER EN PROFUNDIDAD EL CONTRASTE DEL PERIODO PRE-ANTROPOGENICO RESPECTO AL PERIODO QUE VIVIMOS AHORA Y AL FUTURO , EN PARTICULAR EN TODO EL OESTE DEL MEDITERRANEO DOND ELOS DATOS RESPECTO A LOS CAMBIOS QUE VA A PRODUCIR EN TODA LKA COMUNIDAD SON EN EXTREMO ESCASOS Y REPERCUTIRAN A TODOS LOS NIVELES TROFICOS. EL PROYECTO CALMED TIENE COMO OBJETIVO LLENAR ESTOS VACIOS IMPORTANTES CON UNA NUEVA APROXIMACION RESPECTO A ESTAS TRES CLASES PRINCIPALES DE PLANCTON CALCIFICADOR MARINO. EXPLICITAMENTE PROBAREMOS LA HIPOTESIS DE QUE EL CAMBIO CLIMATICO INDUCIDO POR EL HOMBRE DESDE LA MITAD DEL SIGLO 19 YA HA PRODUCIDO UNA TRANSFORMACION EN ESTOS GRUPOS DE PLANCTON QUE SON OBSERVABLES A TRAVES DE LA COMPOSICION DE SU ENSAMBLAJE, SU MASA Y MORFOMETRIA, Y DE LOS CICLOS ESTACIONALES DE AMBOS ASPECTOS MENCIONADOS JUNTO CON TRAZADORES GEOQUIMICOS._x000D_ _x000D_ CALMED EXPLOTARA UN ENFOQUE "BOTTOM-UP" TROFICO EN LA CUENCA MAS AMPLIA DEL MEDITERRANEO, INCLUYENDO EL ATLANTICO NORORIENTAL, EXAMINANDO MUESTRAS DE AGUA, TRAMPAS DE SEDIMENTOS, SEDIMENTOS SUPERFICIALES, Y NUCLEOS DE SEDIMENTOS DE DEBAJO QUE DATAN DE VARIOS SIGLOS ATRAS DESDE EL PRESENTE. ESTA COMBINACION DEBE PERMITIR UNA EVALUACION ESCALADA TEMPORAL Y ESPACIAL DE LOS PRINCIPALES GRUPOS DE CALCIFICADORES PLANCTONICOS BAJO LA INFLUENCIA DE DIVERSAS CARACTERISTICAS OCEANOGRAFICAS FISICAS Y GEOQUIMICAS MEDITERRANEAS, ADEMAS DE UNA MAYOR COMPRENSION DE LOS CAMBIOS EN LA BIODIVERSIDAD MARINA DE ESTOS ORGANISMOS. TAMBIEN SE CONSIDERARA COMO PUEDE POTENCIALMENTE AFECTAR ESTE CAMBIO A LOS SIGUIENTES NIVELES TROFICOS._x000D_ _x000D_ LOS RESULTADOS DEBEN CONTRIBUIR EN ULTIMA INSTANCIA AL CONOCIMIENTO CRITICO SOBRE UNA SERIE DE CUESTIONES DESTACADAS PARA EL MAR MEDITERRANEO, QUE ES AMPLIAMENTE RECONOCIDO COMO ESPECIALMENTE SENSIBLE A UNA AMPLIA GAMA DE INFLUENCIAS DE ESCALA GLOBAL Y LOCAL. EL PROYECTO CALMED INCORPORARA Y ENTRENARA DE MANERA EFECTIVA A AL MENOS DOS ESTUDIANTES DE DOCTORADO. SUS RESULTADOS SE PREVEN DE ALTO IMPACTO, PUBLICABLES EN REVISTAS CIENTIFICAS DE RECONOCIDO PRESTIGIO. POR OTRA PARTE, EL PROYECTO PROPORCIONARA EL IMPULSO PARA AUMENTAR LOS ESFUERZOS DE DIVULGACION PUBLICA Y NUTRIR UN INTERES MAS AMPLIO EN ESTOS ASPECTOS DE LA INVESTIGACION MARINA Y DEL CAMBIO GLOBAL, TANTO EN ESPAÑA COMO A NIVEL INTERNACIONAL. IN PARTICULAR, COCOLITOFORIDS (PHYTOPLANKTON), FORAMINIFERS AND PTEROPODS (ZOOPLANKTON) FORMING EXTERNAL STRUCTURES OF CACO3 HAVE BEEN SHOWN TO BE PARTICULARLY SENSITIVE TO SUCH INDIRECT IMPACTS OF CLIMATIC CHANGE. IN THIS SENSE, THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA HAS BEEN RECOGNISED AS A FOCUS (“HOTSPOT”) OF THIS GLOBAL CLIMATIC CHANGE, WAITING FOR REGIONAL IMPACTS THAT ARE ALREADY PARTICULARLY DETECTABLE AND THAT WILL INCREASE MORE RAPIDLY THROUGHOUT THE 21ST CENTURY COMPARED TO OTHER REGIONS D ALA LAND. WE STILL NEED TO UNDERSTAND IN DEPTH THE CONTRAST OF THE PRE-ANTHROPOGENIC PERIOD WITH RESPECT TO THE PERIOD WE ARE LIVING NOW AND TO THE FUTURE, IN PARTICULAR THROUGHOUT THE WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN, THE DATA REGARDING THE CHANGES IT WILL BRING ABOUT THROUGHOUT LKA COMMUNITY ARE EXTREMELY SCARCE AND WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON ALL TROPHIC LEVELS. THE CALMED PROJECT AIMS TO FILL THESE IMPORTANT GAPS WITH A NEW APPROACH TO THESE THREE MAIN CLASSES OF MARINE CALCIFIER PLANKTON. We will explicitly prove the hypothesis of that the CLIMATIC CHANGE INDUCIED by the man from the mite of the 19th century and has produced a processing in these plots that are observable through the composition of their ensablage, your mass and morphometria, and of the STATIONAL CICLES of ASPECTS MENCED WITH GEOQUIMIC TRACTORS._x000D_ _x000D_ Calmed will exploit a TROPHIC “BOTTOM-UP” focus on the most amplicity of the Mediterranean, including NORORIENTAL ATLANTIC, EXAMINING WORKS OF WATER, SEDIMENT TRAMPAS, SUPERFICIAL SEDIMENTS, AND NUCLEOS OF DEVELOPMENT SEDIMENTS that date from several different SIGLS departing from the present. THIS COMBINATION SHOULD ALLOW A TEMPORAL AND SPATIAL ESCALATION OF THE MAIN GROUPS OF PLANCTONIC CALCIFIERS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF VARIOUS PHYSICAL OCEANOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS AND MEDITERRANEAN GEOQUIMICAS, IN ADDITION TO A GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF THE CHANGES IN THE MARINE BIODIVERSITY OF THESE ORGANISMS. It will also be considered as being able to cope with this change to the next TROPHIC LEVELS._x000D_ _x000D_ the results must be dealt with in ULTIMA INSTANCIA to the CRITIC KNOWING ON A SERIE OF THE MEDITERRANEAL QUESTIONS, which is widely recognised as specifically sensitive to a GLOBAL and LOCAL ESCAL INFLUENCE GAMA. THE CALMED PROJECT WILL EFFECTIVELY INCORPORATE AND TRAIN AT LEAST TWO PHD STUDENTS. ITS RESULTS ARE PREVENTED OF HIGH IMPACT, PUBLISHED IN SCIENTIFIC JOURNALS OF RECOGNISED PRESTIGE. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE THE IMPETUS TO INCREASE PUBLIC OUTREACH EFFORTS AND TO NURTURE A BROADER INTEREST IN THESE ASPECTS OF MARINE RESEARCH AND GLOBAL CHANGE, BOTH IN SPAIN AND INTERNATIONALLY.
