(Spanish)

Objectives: In the context of the relevance of the topic of psycho-physical comorbidity (including "subsyndromic" psychopathological cases”; mild cognitive impairment, DCL; and psychopathological “negative” syndromes, hypotheses about their incidence and “life-time risk” in older patients (55+ years); and his worst prognosis in relation to isolated morbidities. Its association with mortality (including the “Population Attribution Risk”) and the search for causes of mortality is central to coordination with subprojects in non-geriatric population samples. Methodology: The ZARADEMP Study database (population cohort, 4,803 older; 5 “waves” and 20 years of follow-up; design of “two phases” in each “wave” and third phase of hospital diagnosis in cases of dementia). A search for causes of mortality is now added in the Civil Registry. Evaluation of psychic morbidity with validated instruments (Geriatric Mental State; History and Aetiology Schedule; Mini Cognoscitive Examination); Disability scales (Katz; Lawton and Brody). Computerised diagnostic criteria (GMS-AGECAT); official classifications (DSM-IV; ICN-10; NINDS-ADRA). Assessment of somatic morbidity according to EURODEM criteria. Diagnostic criteria for psycho-physical comorbidity have been operated; ‘incident case’; and DCL. A special process of “homogenisation” of criteria will be followed among the participating sub-projects. The statistical analysis will include multivariate techniques and special models such as Fine & Gray survival. (English)
