That has allowed us to develop a new screening model based on risk factors by developing a software that is used in primary care, can indicate the risk factor and optimal screening time, achieving a specificity of 98 % and a sensitivity of 52 % In this new phase of the study we will proceed to improve it, increasing the accuracy of the diagnosis improving the sensitivity of the test, and adapting the inclusion of the software in computerised clinical history systems, in order to be able to access the necessary data, automatically. Finally, we will develop an automatic retina imaging system, which we will include in the software, and that will facilitate the screening of diabetic patients, notifying the doctor to screen the presence of abnormal images in the retinographs performed.
