The general objective of the project developed by the consortium between AGQ and Biomedal is the development of an immunochromatographic device for the rapid determination of post-harvest pesticides, based on the technology called Lateral Flow Inmunoassay (LFIA)._x000D_ The usual techniques of analysis of post-harvest products are based on liquid chromatography and gas coupled to a mass spectrometer require certified methods of extraction of analytes, which can be very diverse and require a significant investment of time and resources, being very necessary to ensure the various regulations regarding the use of phytosanitary technology. A number of commercial ELISA systems for the determination of phytosanitary products in food, especially insecticides, have now been developed. Tests have also been developed for the determination of different herbicides, which shows that there is a potential for the development of a lateral flow test, LFIA, although the passage from an ELISA test to this new typology is very complex, due to the diversity of the capture elements and the obtaining of a sufficiently sensitive signal. It may be indicated that the method developed in this project has advantages over other formats (ELISA) or chromatographic; Since it is more economical, and versatile and substantially improving the portability of the technique and as the development of the LFIA technology has been observed has had a very limited development, which evidences the difficulty and technological challenges present in the project, and the technological novelty of the resulting product._x000D_ The development of the project will have a high and positive impact on the agricultural sector by providing a technological development that helps the control, traceability and food safety of fruits.
