Objective: Evaluate the effectiveness of an intervention to help smokers quit through a conversational bot compared to standard clinical practice in primary care. Design: A pragmatic, randomised, controlled, multicenter clinical trial with 6 months of follow-up. Scope: Health centers of the Madrid Health Service. Participants: Smokers over 18 years of age who come to consultation and accept help to make an attempt to quit tobacco in the next month. N= 460 smokers (230 in each branch), recruited before randomisation. Interventions: Intervention group: Help program to quit smoking through a conversational bot designed according to up-to-date scientific evidence. Control group: Standard clinical practice according to Portfolio of Primary Care Services. Main result variable: Continued withdrawal from tobacco at 6 months biochemically confirmed by measurement of carbon monoxide (CO) in expired air. Analysis: For intent to try. Difference in proportions of continuous withdrawal at 6 months between groups with 95 % CI. Variable logistic regression model dependent continuous withdrawal if/no and independent variables of the patient and the treatment branch. (English)

(Spanish)
