THE NATURAL PHENOMENA THAT WE ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PART INCLUDE THE FLUID-SOLID INTERACTION, THE COUPLING BETWEEN A POROUS MEDIUM AND AN INCOMPRESSIBLE FLUID, THE FILTRATION AND MODELING OF NON-NEWTONIAN FLUIDS AND VISCO-ELASTIC MEDIA, THE DEFORMATION OF NON-VISCOUS FLUIDS SUBJECTED TO ELECTRICAL FORCES, AND THE SEGREGATION OF SPECIES IN THE DYNAMICS OF POPULATIONS. THE STUDY STAGES COMMON TO THE OBJECTIVES ASSOCIATED WITH EACH OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE: (1) THE STUDY OF THE GOOD APPROACH TO THE PROBLEM FORMULATED IN TERMS OF EDPS, (2) THE ANALYSIS OF ITS QUALITATIVE PROPERTIES, (3) THE DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF THE CONVERGENCE OF NUMERICAL SCHEMES THAT ALLOW US TO ADDRESS THE LAST STAGE, WHICH IS (4) THE ELABORATION OF COMPUTER CODES THAT PROVIDE, AT A REASONABLE COST, AN APPROXIMATE SOLUTION THAT REPRODUCES WITH PRECISION THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CORRESPONDING PHYSICAL PHENOMENA. _x000D_ _x000D_ the SECOND PART CONSISTE IN THE ADAPTATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNICALS FOR RESEARCH APPLICATION IN NEURO-RADIOLOGY. IN COLLABORATION WITH DOCTORS FROM THE CENTRAL UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL OF ASTURIAS (HUCA), WE INTEND TO CONTINUE THE STUDIES BASED ON THE PROCESSING OF MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING, FOCUSED ON THE SEARCH FOR BIOMARKERS FOR THE DETECTION OF NEUROLOGIC DISEASES SUCH AS MIGRAINE. IN THIS PART, NOT ONLY THE MATHEMATICAL TECHNIQUES EMPLOYED, BUT ALSO EVERYTHING THAT INVOLVES THE COMPLETE STUDY PROCESS, THAT IS, FROM THE ACQUISITION AND PROCESSING OF IMAGES TO THEIR STATISTICAL STUDY AND MEDICAL INTERPRETATION TAKE ON IMPORTANCE.
