The main objective of the project ‘Enhancing the quality of vocational education and training at the United School in Martin’ is to increase the quality of vocational education and training by increasing the competences needed to adapt education to the requirements of the labour market by promoting key literacy (reading literacy, numeracy, science literacy, financial literacy, including entrepreneurial knowledge and economic thinking, language skills and ICT skills – together as ‘key literacy’). An important consequence of the project in the further life of pupils is also an increase in their standard of living, as their increased readiness for the labour market will be reflected in the qualitative level of their work and its value for their future employers, which is valued in practice by financial and career growth. The project thus has a major impact on the school, pupils, educators and the entire community, even at the local level, with an overlap to the national level. The implementation of the activities of the presented project will significantly contribute to improving the quality of education of pupils with SVVPs and the effective use of their rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The current applicant educates up to 32 pupils with special educational needs. By acquiring new knowledge and educators and highly skilled and motivated professionals, children will gain significantly wider opportunities on the labour market. The applicant will implement the main objective of the project through HA1: Supporting key literacy skills for secondary school pupils. The target group of the project is the applicant’s pupils, including pupils with special educational needs, as well as the applicant’s pedagogical and professional staff. The place of implementation of the project activities is the less developed region, Martin, Žilina Self-Governing Region. The project will be implemented on the basis of an identified need resulting from pupils’ achievements in the field of key literacy, as well as the applicant’s own experience. Main activity 1 is implemented in accordance with call OPLZ-PO1/2019/DOP/1.2,1-01 form: 1) extracurricular activities and 2) pedagogical clubs. The project is conceptually in line with the global objective of the Human Resources Operational Programme (OPHR), namely the priority axis “Education”, and fulfils the objectives of Investment Priority 1.2 “Increasing the relevance of the labour market in education and training systems, facilitating the transition from education to employment and improving vocational education and training systems and their quality, including through mechanisms for skills anticipation, adaptation of curricula and design and development of work-based learning systems, including dual education and apprenticeship systems” and specific objective 1.2.1 “Enhancing the quality of vocational education and training reflecting labour market needs”. The project implements the principles of sustainable development and equality between men and women and non-discrimination. The implementation of the project will fulfil the measurable indicator of the project “Number of secondary school pupils involved in activities supported by the OP HR aimed at promoting practical teaching, including activities aimed at supporting the implementation of elements of the dual education system in connection with the improvement of the quality of VET” in the number of pupils at least: P0450 Number of participants involved in activities aimed at promoting practical teaching, including activities aimed at supporting the implementation of elements of the dual education system – 170;P0456 Number of participants having completed activities aimed at promoting practical teaching, including activities aimed at implementing elements of the dual education system – 170. Realizácia aktivít predloženého projektu významným spôsobom prispeje k zvýšeniu kvality vzdelávania žiakov so ŠVVP a efektívnemu využívaniu ich práv podľa Dohovoru OSN o právach osôb so zdravotným postihnutím. Aktuálne žiadateľ vzdeláva až 32 žiakov so špeciálnymi výchovno-vzdelávacími potrebami. Deti získaním nových vedomostí a pedagógov a odborných zamestnancov s vyššou kvalifikáciou a motiváciou nadobudnú výrazne rozsiahlejšie príležitosti na trhu práce. Projekt implementuje princíp udržateľného rozvoja a princíp rovnosti mužov a žien a nediskriminácie. Realizáciou projektu dôjde k naplneniu merateľného ukazovateľa projektu „počet žiakov stredných škôl zapojených do aktivít podporených z OP ĽZ zameraných na podporu praktického vyučovania vrátane aktivít zameraných na podporu zavádzania prvkov systému duálneho vzdelávania vo väzbe na zvýšenie kvality OVP“ v počte žiakov minimálne: P0450 Počet účastníkov zapojených do aktivít zameraných na podporu praktického vyučovania vrátane aktivít zameraných na podporu zavádzania prvkov systému duálneho vzdelávania – 170;P0456 Počet účastníkov, ktorí absolvovali aktivity zamerané na podporu praktického vyučovania vrátane aktivít zameraných na zavádzanie prvkov systému duálneho vzdelávania - 170.
