The AKARDIO COVID-19 project falls under the Smart Specialisation domain of Population Health and Health Technology. The aim of the project is to increase the knowledge of cardiovascular, epidemiological and immunological aspects of COVID-19 through independent research in order to support the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic means and thus eliminate the impact of the consequences of the pandemic. AKARDIO COVID-19 will meet one of the expected objectives of the challenge – it will enable modern experimental research infrastructure to be equipped with research institutions that can be used for further pandemic waves also in practice for diagnostics/therapies (e.g. diagnostic research laboratories/clean spaces, etc.). The project fulfils one of the challenges – Diagnostics and testing (research and development of the most accurate and rapid diagnostic tests possible). At the same time, the impact of the project will be research on the collective immunity of the population, cardiovascular and immunological impacts of overcoming COVID-19. Activities projektu:Výskum new diagnostic markers and therapeutics in patients diagnosed with COVID-19 – the main activity, which is divided into 3 with subactivity: (1.1. Study of population collective immunity against SARS-CoV2, 1.2. Analysis of changes in patients’ immune system’s proteoma after COVID-19. 1.3. Identification of possible cardiovascular complications in patients after COVID-19Support activitiesThe location of implementation will be MediPark and other departments of the Faculty of Medicine UPJŠ. Projekt AKARDIO COVID-19 spadá do domény inteligentnej špecializácie Zdravie obyvateľstva a zdravotnícke technológie. Projekt napĺňa jeden z okruhov výzvy - Diagnostika a testovanie (výskum a vývoj čo možno najpresnejších a najrýchlejších diagnostických testov). Dopadom riešenia projektu bude súčasne výskum kolektívnej imunity obyvateľstva, kardiovaskulárnych a imunologických dopadov prekonania COVID-19. (Slovak)
