The project is presented by the Agency for the Support of Regional Development Košice, n. o. (ARR), with the support of its founder – Košice Self-Governing Region.  The overall objective of the project is to improve the awareness of the Slovak population about the negative consequences of climate change and, in particular, about the possibilities to strengthen the resilience of our settlements with adaptation measures that will reduce their vulnerability and at the same time increase the readiness of the local population to the adverse effects of climate change (both natural and technological disasters). Residents of the whole Slovakia will be approached through text-graphic and video materials published via the Internet. Residents of the Košice region will also be informed through face-to-face meetings, Objectives:  increase public awareness of the functioning and impact of natural ecosystems on a changing climate. As nature itself, it is able to cope with climate change (adaptation capacity). Improve people’s readiness to face the adverse effects of climate change. provide information on adaptation processes and measures (revitalisation measures) that will limit or prevent the effects of adverse effects of climate change (because prevention is the most effective and even the cheapest tool). Target groups: Students and educators of secondary schools (CS) in the territory of the county (63 CS in the founding area of KSK + 47 private and ecclesiastical schools) – will acquire knowledge and information about climate change and the need to adapt (adaptation) or mitigate the effects of climate change (mitigation) within general educational subjects. Educators – get the latest information on this topic, which will also be used in the next school years (after the end of the project)Mayors (principals) and Members: elected representatives of municipalities are responsible for governance, including crisis management – so that the inhabitants of the municipality are prepared and well informed about what to do in crisis situations (in the case of sudden river basins, landslides, etc.). Through local government (municipalities), information on the need to adapt to climate change will be disseminated to Business Managers: in particular, in the areas that may be most affected by climate change (land management). disseminating information on the need to adapt to climate change for wider sections of the population (e.g. property owners in municipalities) 3 information programmes are proposed under the main activity: 1. Preparation and printing of information materials2. Educational film and short clips3. Seminars, workshops, competitions and excursions (English)

Príprava a tlač informačných materiálov2. Vzdelávací film a krátke klipy3. Semináre, workshopy, súťaž a exkurzia (Slovak)
