The project of the University Science Park of the University of Žilina (UVP UNIZA), Phase II, is aimed at completing a top university science park as a sophisticated technological unit in research areas that fall under intelligent transport and production systems. UVP UNIZA has the potential to be a driving engine of innovative and technological development of Northwestern Slovakia.The main objective of the project is to build an excellent university science park with internationally comparable outputs in the field of R & D and with emphasis on economic growth and development of the region. The project consists of a set of three logically follow-up goals:1. Enhancing innovation culture, extensive support for applied research and transfer of knowledge into practice, and support for regional knowledge and innovation development2. Building the physical infrastructure of the scientific park as a single technological unit3. Implementation of top R & D in the field of intelligent transport and production systems and associated activities.The local project implementation is ŽU. The objectives and activities of the project will be translated into measurable indicators, which focus mainly on the implementation of applied research projects, the creation of spin-off companies and the provision of comprehensive support for the management of intellectual property rights of ŽU. Projekt Univerzitného vedeckého parku Žilinskej univerzity v Žiline (UVP UNIZA), fáza II. je zameraný na dobudovanie špičkového univerzitného vedeckého parku ako sofistikovaného technologického celku a to vo výskumných oblastiach, ktoré spadajú pod inteligentné dopravné a výrobné systémy. UVP UNIZA má potenciál byť hnací motor inovačného a technologického rozvoja Severozápadného Slovenska.Hlavný cieľ projektu je vybudovanie excelentného univerzitného vedeckého parku s medzinárodne porovnateľnými výstupmi v oblasti VaV a s dôrazom na hospodársky rast a rozvoj regiónu.Projekt tvorí sústava troch logicky nadväzujúcich cieľov:1. Zvyšovanie inovačnej kultúry, rozsiahla podpora aplikovaného výskumu a transferu poznatkov do praxe a podpora regionálneho znalostného a inovačného rozvoja2. Vybudovanie fyzickej infraštruktúry vedeckého parku ako jednotného technologického celku3. Realizácia špičkového VaV v oblasti inteligentných dopravných a výrobných systémov a k nim priradených aktivít.Miestom realizácie projektu je ŽU. Ciele a aktivity projektu sa premietnu do merateľných ukazovateľov, ktoré smerujú najmä k realizácii projektov aplikovaného výskumu, k vzniku spin-off firiem a k zabezpečeniu komplexnej podpory riadenia práv duševného vlastníctva ŽU.
