The aim of the project “Improvement of the learning environment at Smiltene Secondary School” is to improve the learning environment at Smiltene Secondary School by investing and developing the existing infrastructure in order to facilitate the gradual introduction of general education content based on the planned competence approach. The idea of the project “Improvement of the learning environment in Smiltene Secondary School” was approved by the Regional Development Coordination Council on 25 April 2017, and the project is included in the investment plan of Smiltene Municipality Development Programme 2012-2018. Construction project development and author supervision procurement SND/2017/14/AK. In total, it is planned to develop 4 separate construction projects – a training building, boarding, sports grounds and a sports hall, each of which is divided into construction stages. Within the framework of the project it is planned 1) to renew the educational premises at Smiltene Secondary School at Dakteru Street 27 – to build an average school building, creating an ergonomic learning environment with modern ICT solutions, as well as to rebuild the K5 corps of the school, modernising the training rooms and creating a multimedia laboratory and library. 2) to improve the sports infrastructure by rebuilding the sports hall into a multifunctional building and restoring outdoor sports grounds, 3) it is planned to create a unified learning environment by constructing an intern in the school territory.The total eligible costs of the project “Improvement of the learning environment in Smiltene Secondary School” are EUR 5199377,88, of which the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funding is 36.06 % or EUR 1874930,28.The total eligible costs of the Smiltene Municipality are EUR 5199377,88 % of the eligible costs of the project, from which the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funding is EUR 770400, or EUR 1874930,28.The Smiltene District Council guarantees the co-financing of 49.12 % of the project’s eligible costs, the project’s eligibility costs are EUR 770400 45, or 2 % of the costs of the project.     Projekta "Mācību vides uzlabošana Smiltenes vidusskolā" mērķis ir uzlabot mācību vidi Smiltenes vidusskolā, veicot ieguldījumus un attīstīt esošo infrastruktūru, lai sekmētu plānoto kompetenču pieejā balstītā vispārējās izglītības satura pakāpenisku ieviešanu. Projekta “Mācību vides uzlabošana Smiltenes vidusskolā” ideja 2017.gada 25.aprīlī apstiprināta Reģionālās attīstības koordinācijas padomē, un projekts ietverts Smiltenes novada attīstības programmas 2012.-2018.gadam investīciju plānā. Būvprojekta izstrādei un autoruzraudzībai veikts iepirkums SND/2017/14/AK. Kopumā paredzēts izstrādāt 4 atsevišķus būvprojektus – mācību ēkai, internātam, sporta laukumiem un sporta hallei, iespēju robežās katru no šiem būvprojektiem sadalot izbūves kārtās. Projekta ietvaros ir plānots 1) atjaunot Smiltenes vidusskolā Dakteru ielā 27 mācību telpas – izbūvēt vidējo mācību korpusu, veidojot ergonomisku mācību vidi ar moderniem IKT risinājumiem, kā arī pārbūvēt skolas K5 korpusu, modernizējot mācību telpas un izveidojot multimēdiju laboratoriju, bibliotēku. 2) uzlabot sporta infrastruktūru, pārbūvējot sporta halli par multifunkcionālu ēku un atjaunojot sporta āra laukumus, 3) plānots radīt vienotu mācību vidi, izbūvējot internātu skolas teritorijā.Projekta "Mācību vides uzlabošana Smiltenes vidusskolā" kopējās attiecināmo izmaksu summa ir 5 199 377,88 EUR no kurām Eiropas Reģionālā attīstības fonda (ERAF) finansējums ir 36,06 % jeb 1 874 930,28 EUR. Smiltenes novada dome garantē līdzfinansējumu 49,12 % no projekta attiecināmajām izmaksām jeb 2 554 047,15 un sedz projekta neattiecināmās izmaksas, kas sastāda 2 224 291,53 EUR, Valsts budžeta dotācija 14,82% no attiecināmajām izmaksām, jeb 770 400,45 EUR.Projekta īstenošanu plānots veikt no 2018. gada jūnija līdz 2021. gada augustam.
