<p>Το ecoDROPdenser στοχεύει στην ανάπτυξη υπερλεπτών υμενίων για τη βελτίωση της απόδοσης και την προστασία επιφανειών σε λέβητες συμπύκνωσης. Η χρήση της λανθάνουσας θερμότητας συμπύκνωσης αυξάνει σημαντικά την απόδοση των λεβήτων, αλλά προκαλεί προβλήματα λόγω του διαβρωτικού χαρακτήρα των συμπυκνωμάτων, κυρίως λόγω των SOx στα απαέρια τα οποία συμπυκνούμενα σχηματίζουν H2SO4. Οι επικαλύψεις που θα αναπτυχθούν (i) θα είναι υπερ-λεπτές και συνεπώς δεν θα μειώνεται σημαντικά ο συντελεστής θερμικής αγωγιμότητας, (ii) θα αποτίθενται από αέρια φάση και συνεπώς δεν θα δημιουργούνται υγρά απόβλητα, (iii) θα ενισχύουν τη συμπύκνωση σε σταγόνες και την απορροή των συμπυκωμάτων και συνεπώς θα έχουν αυξημένο συντελεστή μεταφοράς θερμότητας. Η λειτουργικότητα της καινοτόμου επικάλυψης θα αξιολογηθεί ενεργειακά σε εμπορικό λέβητα.</p> (Greek)
