For this purpose in the 6th century B.C. and probably during Periandros was built from the beach of Schinounda to the western end of today’s canal, between the modern city of Corinth and Loutraki, a cobbled road with grooves, which served to scroll the wheeled vehicles on which the ships were carried. In the context of this project, the visible parts of Diolko to the Peloponnese side will be maintained, fixed and highlighted in order to be visited by the general public. At the same time, a sea barrier will be created along Diolkos, in order to minimise the deterioration of the monument by the corrosive action of the sea. (English)

(Greek)
