Projektets övergripande mål är att stärka det regionala näringslivets konkurrenskraft och tillväxten för Övre Norrland genom att skapa förutsättningar för effektivare och miljövänligare godstransporter och ökad multimodalitet. Projektmålet är ökad kapacitet och nya funktioner kopplade till färjan mellan Umeå och Vasa. Projektmålet är indelat i två delmål som är direkt kopplade till projektets huvudaktiviteter. Delmål 1 är flytt av E12 för att möjliggöra större ytor för en utvecklad, säkrare och effektivare hantering av avgående och ankommande fordon och godsenheter. Delmål 2 är en ny yta för långtidsuppställning av lastbilar och trailers med tillgång till servicefunktioner samt för andra verksamheter kopplade till färjan och hamnen. (Swedish)
