V plynárenství a hydroenergetice se používají měkkotěsnící kulové kohouty. Tyto armatury nejsou trvale těsné, protože dochází k poškození měkkotěsnícího kroužku. Z důvodu celosvětové poptávky vznikl požadavek na změnu měkkotěsnícího kroužku za kovový, který by garantoval těsnost A podle ISO 5208. Podstatou projektu je nalezení konstrukčního řešení, které by umožnilo při současné úrovni obrábění dosáhnout těsnosti A (nulový únik). a. (Czech)

Soft-tight ball cocks are used in gas and hydroenergy. These fittings are not permanently tight because the soft-sealing ring is damaged. Due to global demand, there was a requirement to change the soft-tight ring for metal, which would guarantee tightness A according to ISO 5208. The essence of the project is to find a design solution that would allow tightness A (zero leakage) to be achieved at the current machining level. a. (English)
