The aim of the project is to use the Rožná uranium deposit, created approximately 270 million years ago, as a natural analogue for the study of the behaviour of uranium in the Earth’s crust. We would therefore like to help predict the behaviour of spent nuclear fuel, which, like the ore of uranium on the bearing, consists mainly of UO2, on its repository. The aim is to supplement knowledge of the mechanisms of the formation of the bearing and the surrounding geological environment, which acted as a natural geochemical barrier preventing the migration of uranium from the environment of the bearing into the surroundings. a.
