Głównym celem projektu jest ochrona siedlisk grądu subkontynentalnego oraz pozostałych zbiorowisk leśnych zlokalizowanych na zinwentaryzowanym obszarze Nadleśnictwa Spychowo. Sposobem na wykonanie postawionego celu jest ograniczenie występowania czeremchy amerykańskiej występującej na siedliskach wymienionych w Planie Realizacji Projektu. Ten obcy gatunek inwazyjny w drastyczny sposób wprowadza zmiany w dynamice ekosystemu. Cele cząstkowe to: wycięcie czeremchy amerykańskiej na powierzchniach zinwentaryzowanych; opryskiwanie odbijających osobników herbicydem na bazie substancji aktywnej glifosat; posadzenie gatunków fitomelioracyjnych (grab, lipa) w celu zajęcia niszy ekologicznej po czeremsze. Działania swoje motywujemy inwazyjnością biologiczną czeremchy amerykańskiej, czego skutkiem jest utrata siedlisk, jedno z największych globalnych zagrożeń dla zachowania różnorodności biologicznej (Faliński 2004, Namura-Ochalska 2012). W związku z tym udział czeremchy amerykańskiej nie powinien się zwiększać, a wręcz jego obecność powinna być zmniejszana, szczególnie na terenach chronionych takich jak priorytetowy grąd subkontynentalny 9170-2, bory sosnowe reprezentatywne dla Puszczy Piskiej i inne. Ograniczenie jej występowania spowoduje zdecydowaną poprawę stanu zdrowotnego siedlisk, co przyczyni się bezpośrednio do osiągnięcia wskaźników rezultatu i produktu podanych w kolejnym punkcie. The main objective of the project is to protect the habitats of the subcontinental hare and other forest communities located in the inventory area of Spychowo Forestry. A way to achieve this goal is to reduce the presence of American cherries found on the habitats listed in the Project Implementation Plan. This alien invasive species drastically introduces changes in the dynamics of the ecosystem. The sub-targets are: cutting of the American cherry on inventory surfaces; spraying reflective herbicide on the basis of the active substance glyphosate; planting phytomyeliorative species (grab, lime) to occupy an ecological niche after Cheremshe. We motivate our actions by the biological invasiveness of the US, resulting in habitat loss, one of the biggest global threats to the conservation of biodiversity (Faliński 2004, Namura-Ochalska 2012). Therefore, the share of the American cherry should not increase, and even its presence should be reduced, especially in protected areas such as priority subcontinental hare, 9170-2 pine bores representative of the Piska Forest and others. Reducing its prevalence will result in a significant improvement in the health status of habitats, which will contribute directly to the achievement of the result and product indicators given at the next point.
