Jedná se o trať zařazenou do globální sítě (comprehensive) TEN-T dle Nařízení EP a Rady (EU) č. 1315/2013, jež je rozhodujících železniční magistrálou vedoucí z Německa přes Českou republiku do Rakouska. Na území ČR je tato trasa definována jako IV. Železniční tranzitní koridor Děčín st.hr. - Praha - České Budějovice - Horní Dvořiště st.hr (IV. TŽK).Součástí této trasy je i úsek Sudoměřice - Votice. Jedná se o stávající jednokolejný elektrifikovaný úsek, který řeší komplexní modernizaci trati. (Czech)
