Účelem stavby je zamezit skalnímu řícení a zajistit stabilitu skalního masivu mezi ulicí Chelčického a Vrchlického v Úpici na pozemku p.p.č. 526/3 (k.ú. Úpice). V současné době občas dochází k samovolnému vypadávání kamenů a bloků ze skalního masivu. Pádová energie uvolněných skalních částí ohrožuje provoz po komunikaci mezi ulicí Chelčického a Vrchlického. Celková půdorysná plocha statického zajištění je 232 m2. (Czech)
