The subject of the project is the creation of the so-called urban plant in Olsztyn. The area for the establishment of the plant is located in the central part of the city. These are the areas directly adjacent to the walls surrounding the Holy Cathedral. Jacob and the new Pilgrim House. Currently, the area covered by the project between S. Money Street and the city fortifications with the Cathedral Basilica of St. Jacob is largely neglected and used only to a limited extent. There are landfills, a parking lot and a playground used by municipal kindergarten No. 6 at ul. It’s the money. The design assumptions foresee the creation of two zones: public area of the so-called picnic/recreation area (in the place of the present ground car park and kindergarten garden) and a zone of calming and relaxing the so-called centrifuge garden (in the field pit between the existing embankment and the defensive walls). The picnic part will consist of quarters of greenery low, mainly lawns. It will be an open area, conducive to various forms of activity and recreation. The quieting zone will be located at the site of the former garden of the archpriest and vicar of St. It’s Jacob’s. It is a space located in the shadows and away from the busy Pienieżny Street, additionally separated by a municipal embankment. This is the place where ornamental plantings of shrubs and perennials are planned, which will refer to the viridae assumptions. The project, through the creation of a coherent and competitive tourist offer of the city, which will increase the interest of visitors to cultural heritage sites, which constitute tourist attractions, is in line with the assumptions of the SzOOP RPO WiM, as it envisages activities aimed at preserving cultural heritage and using them from the point of view of socio-economic development, e.g. by increasing the quality and diversity of the region’s cultural offer in the process of expanding its tourist offer. Przedmiotem projektu jest powstanie tzw. plant miejskich w Olsztynie. Teren przewidziany pod utworzenie plant jest zlokalizowany w centralnej części miasta. Są to tereny bezpośrednio sąsiadujące z murami okalającymi Katedrę Św. Jakuba oraz nowy Dom Pielgrzyma. Obecnie teren objęty projektem między ulicą S. Pieniężnego, a obwarowaniami miejskimi z Bazyliką Archikatedralną św. Jakuba jest w dużej mierze zaniedbany i użytkowany tylko w ograniczonym zakresie. Znajdują się tu nieużytki, parking gruntowy oraz plac zabaw z którego korzysta przedszkole miejskie nr 6 przy ul. Pieniężnego. Założenia projektowe przewidują powstanie dwóch stref: strefa ogólnodostępna tzw. piknikowa / rekreacyjna (w miejscu obecnego gruntowego parkingu oraz ogrodu przedszkola) oraz strefa wyciszenia i relaksu tzw. ogród wirydarzowy (w zagłębieniu terenowym między istniejącym wałem ziemnym a murami obronnymi). Na część piknikową składać się będą kwartały zieleni niskiej, głównie trawniki. Będzie to teren otwarty, sprzyjający rożnym formom aktywności i wypoczynku. Strefa wyciszenia znajdować się będzie w miejscu dawnego ogrodu archiprezbitera i wikarego z Katedry Św. Jakuba. Jest to przestrzeń zlokalizowana w cieniu i oddaleniu od ruchliwej ulicy Pieniężnego, dodatkowo oddzielona wałem miejskim. W tym miejscu przewidziano wykonanie nasadzeń ozdobnych krzewów i bylin, które formą będą nawiązywały do założeń wirydarzowych. Projekt poprzez stworzenie spójnej i konkurencyjnej oferty turystycznej miasta, która spowoduje wzrost zainteresowania odwiedzających miejscami należącymi do dziedzictwa kulturowego, stanowiącymi atrakcje turystyczne, wpisuje się w założenia SzOOP RPO WiM, ponieważ zakłada działania mające na celu zachowanie dziedzictwa kulturowego i wykorzystanie ich z punktu widzenia rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego m. in. poprzez wzrost jakości i różnorodności oferty kulturalnej regionu wpisującej się w proces poszerzenia jego oferty turystycznej.
