Projekt polega na przebudowie instalacji do produkcji energii w ośrodku leczniczo-opiekuńczym ze Szczyrku. W ramach inwestycji przewiduje się modernizację obecnie funkcjonującego nieefektywnego wysokotemperaturowego kotła gazowego na instalację pracującą w warunkach wysokosprawnej kogeneracji, której działanie polega na wspólnym wytworzeniu energii elektrycznej i ciepła użytkowego. Dzięki realizacji projektu nastąpi zmniejszenie rocznego zużycia energii oraz gazu, co będzie miało wpływ na obniżenie kosztów działalności i wzrost konkurencyjności firmy. Ponadto przeprowadzone inwestycje ograniczą emisję szkodliwych substancji do atmosfery (przewiduje się redukcję CO2 o 71,51%) i wpłyną na polepszenie stanu środowiska naturalnego. Ważnym aspektem projektu jest również wzrost poziomu bezpieczeństwa dostaw energii oraz zwiększenie elastyczności produkcji ciepła do ogrzewania i ciepłej wody użytkowej. Realizacja projektu ma więc wymiar zarówno operacyjny, ekonomiczny, jak i ekologiczny. (Polish)
