The aim of the project is to create, under the “design and build” system, a centre for the protection of biodiversity in the urban area (Big Urban Park in Oleśno) based on native species. The concept envisages the construction, development, modernisation and retrofitting of facilities and the accompanying infrastructure necessary for the implementation of tasks in the field of biodiversity protection and environmental education activities. The project is planned to include: — execution of dendrological and natural inventory (including botanical, ornithological and Chiropterological), – removal of most foreign and invasive plant species, – design of plantings together with detailed care guidelines (necessary enrichment of the park with shrubs, X-rays by removing part of a medium-sized stand and introducing new plantings), – exposing trees of a monumental character and seeking to protect them; leaving as much space as possible in their surroundings, – setting up houses/houses for insects, surrounding these booths with honey-saving shrubs and/or perennials e.g. heather, -equipping the park with houses/birds, bats, -executing an educational path, -making lighting, demolishing existing surfaces and small infrastructure elements, making new surfaces, making small architectural elements. The above-mentioned activities consist of the creation of the “Centre for the Protection of Biological Diversity in Oleśno”, located within the limits of the Municipal Park in Oleśno, with an area of approx. 2.3 ha. The facility will be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. As a result of the project, the nature-landscape complex “Big Urban Park” in Oleśno (Resolution of the City Council in Olesno no. Projekt ma na celu utworzenie,w systemie „zaprojektuj i wybuduj", centrum ochrony różnorodności biologicznej na obszarze miejskim (Duży Park Miejski w Oleśnie) w oparciu o gatunki rodzime. Koncepcja przewiduje budowę, rozbudowę, modernizację i doposażenie obiektów oraz infrastruktury towarzyszącej, niezbędnej do realizacji zadań z zakresu ochrony różnorodności biologicznej oraz prowadzenia działalności w zakresie edukacji ekologicznej. W ramach projektu planuje się m.in: - wykonanie inwentaryzacji dendrologicznej i przyrodniczej (w tym botanicznej, ornitologicznej i chiropterologicznej), - usunięcie większości obcych i inwazyjnych gatunków roślin, - wykonanie projektu nasadzeń wraz z rozpisaniem szczegółowych wytycznych pielęgnacyjnych (konieczne wzbogacenie parku o krzewy, prześwietlenie poprzez usunięcie części drzewostanu średniej wielkości i wprowadzenie nowych nasadzeń), - wyeksponowanie drzew o charakterze pomnikowym i staranie się o objęcie ich tą formą ochrony przyrody; pozostawienie w miarę możliwości wolnej przestrzeni w ich otoczeniu, - ustawienie domków/budek dla owadów, otoczenie tych budek miododajnymi krzewami i/lub bylinami np. wrzosowatymi, - wyposażenie parku w domki/budki dla ptaków, nietoperzy, -wykonanie ścieżki edukacyjnej, -wykonanie oświetlenia, rozbiórkę istniejących nawierzchni i elementów małej infrastruktury, wykonanie nowych nawierzchni, wykonanie elementów małej architektury, -wydarzenia edukacyjne. Ww. działania składają się na utworzenie ,,Centrum ochrony różnorodności biologicznej w Oleśnie", zlokalizowanego w granicach Parku Miejskiego w Oleśnie, o powierzchni ok. 2,3 ha. Obiekt zostanie przystosowany do potrzeb osób niepełnosprawnych. W wyniku realizacji projektu wsparta zostanie forma ochrony przyrody - zespół przyrodniczo-krajobrazowy „Duży Park Miejski” w Oleśnie (uchwała Rady Miejskiej w Olesnie nr XLII/330/17 z 14 listopada 2017 r. w sprawie ustanowienia zespołu przyrodniczo-krajobrazowego „Duży Park Miejski” w Oleśnie).
