Szacuje się, że odsetek ludności zależnej od pomocy społecznej w woj. obejmuje 8% mieszkańców (Społeczno-demograficzne uwarunkowania rozwoju Mazowsza s.35) Przyczynami przyznawania świadczeń z opieki społecznej są głównie ubóstwo, bezrobocie i bezradność życiowa. PKPS wraz z Partnerami GOPS Chlewiska i PUP Szydłowiec na podst. info. z instytucji pomocy społ., rynku pracy i własnych analiz z realizacji PO PŻ zdiagnozował problem wychodzenia z wyklucz. społ. i postanowił skierować w tym zakresie wsparcie na teren pow. szydłowieckiego, który charakteryzuje się najwyższą stopą bezrob. w woj. 34,4% GUS 03.15 i jednocześnie jest miejscem zamieszkania największej liczby osób długotr. bezrob., zagrożonych wyklucz. społ. i doświadczających ubóstwa. Na 4602 zarejestrowanych bezrob. 2232 to K a z prawem do zasiłku z 737 osób K jest 337-45,7%. Z 3198 długotr. bezrob.1616 to K-50,5% (PUP Szydł.09.15) Wg.Maz.Barom.Ubóstwa i Wyk.Społ. gminy pow.szydł.sa najniżej progu defaworyzacji. Bezrob prowadzi do ubóstwa, do którego często dołączają niezaradność życiowa i niechęć przed zmianami oraz różne patologie społeczne, w tym uzależnienia. Pomoc społ. rozdawana wszystkim, którzy spełniają określone w ustawie kryteria bez dalszego zintegrowanego działania powoduje wydłużanie okresu jej udzielania dlatego niezbędne jest komplek. wsparcie w celu wyjścia z trudnej sytuacji życiowej i odnalezienia się na rynku pracy. Bezrob. M jest nieznacznie więcej ale sytuacja K zdecydowanie pogarsza się w liczbie upraw. do zasiłku oraz przy długotr. bezrob. także liczba osób którym udzielono świadczenia 2244 (1044M i 1200K) w okresie 01.01- 20.10.2015 r. przez MOPS w Szydłowcu świadczy na niekorzyść K. Biorąc pow. dane pod uwagę i fakt , że K muszą ponosić gł. ciężar opieki nad dziećmi czy osobą zależną wyrównując szanse obydwu płci objęto wsparciem projekt. 55% K. (Polish)
