As part of the project “Sun Alternative to Radzyń Podlaski” the installation of 381 solar installations for water heating and 78 units of photovoltaic installations for individual customers with their own property in Radzyń Podlaski was planned. In addition, activities related to investor supervision, proper project management and promotion of the project were planned. The additional objectives of the project are: reducing greenhouse gas and CO2 emissions, improving the quality of life of the city’s residents, increasing the attractiveness of the area and improving the quality of the environment. Among the stakeholders we can distinguish two, the most interested groups of recipients, i.e. residents of the city, in whom the installations will be installed and the City Hall, which is also the initiator of the changes. Secondary groups include the remaining residents of the city, tourists and visiting the city, designer and installation contractors. According to the order issued by the Mayor of Radzyń Podlaski, this project does not require a decision on environmental conditions, as it does not qualify for projects that can have a significant impact on the environment. In addition, the project will be carried out away from Natura 2000 sites and will therefore not adversely affect protected areas. The project also does not require the development of air protection programmes, as no standards have been exceeded in the investment area. The project is part of the objectives of the Air Protection Programme by reducing emissions. The project will result in an additional renewable energy generation capacity of 1.59723 MW in 2018 and a decrease in greenhouse gas emissions by more than 30 % and 221.99 MWhe/year of electricity and 681.59 MWhe/year of heat.
