Współczynnik obciążenia demograficznego wyniósł 61,2 przy średniej województwa 58,4.Według Narodowego Spisu Powszechnego, powiat zamieszkiwało 17 164 osób niepełnosprawnych, co stanowiło 10% ogółu w lubuskiem.
