Współczynnik obciążenia demograficznego wyniósł 61,2 przy średniej województwa 58,4.Według Narodowego Spisu Powszechnego, powiat zamieszkiwało 17 164 osób niepełnosprawnych, co stanowiło 10% ogółu w lubuskiem. Obok miasta Gorzowa Wielkopolskiego powiat nowosolski reprezentuje obszary o najwyższym nasileniu problemu niepełnosprawności.W powiecie istnieje jeden Dom Pomocy w Kożuchowie dla osób przewlekle somatycznie chorych oraz niepełnosprawnych fizycznie oferujący 109 miejsc. Według danych w sprawozdaniu pt. Ocena zasobów pomocy społecznej w 2016 roku, liczba oczekujących na miejsca w DPS wyniosła 8 osób.W powiecie istnieje jeden środowiskowy dom samopomocy w Nowej Soli,gdzie na jedno miejsce przypada 572 osób niepełnosprawnych.
