Infertility is a problem affecting about 15 % of couples, with at least half of the male factor playing an important role. Reducing male fertility potential is a challenge for current medicine. One of the main causes of male infertility is poor sperm quality caused by spermatogenesis disorders (sperm production) as a result of increased testicular temperature. Cultural factors: sedentary lifestyle, tight clothing, other habits and the presence of varicose veins negatively affect the quality of the semen. Normal spermatogenesis occurs at a temperature of about 33-35°C. This temperature, an indispensable element in the niche of spermatogenesis cells, allows the formation of morphologically correct gametes to protect the genetic material from degradation. Coolmen is an innovative device that is an interactive cooling linen that allows you to distribute heat from the scrotum and effectively lower the temperature. This will be the only device available to allow permanently to normalise the testicle temperature in a controlled manner without the risk of excessive cooling. Sensors together with a precise control system will ensure constant temperature control. The device is created and will be implemented with the participation of andrologists – clinicians and scientists – from renowned research centres: Centre for Preclinical Research of the Medical University of Warsaw and the Military Medical Institute. The prototype of the device will be optimised for comfort of use and clinical efficiency. Thanks to the transmission of data to the mobile application, it will be possible to provide convenient supervision of the therapy by the patient and doctor and the possibility of scientific analysis. Reference number of the aid programme: SA.41471(2015/X) Purpose of public aid: Article 25 of EC Regulation No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain types of aid compatible with the internal market in the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty (OJ L. I'm sorry. EU L 187/1 of 26.06.2014). (English)

Będzie to jedyne dostępne urządzenie pozwalające trwale w sposób kontrolowany znormalizować temperaturę jąder bez ryzyka nadmiernego wychłodzenia. Czujniki wraz z precyzyjnym układem sterującym zapewnią stałą kontrolę temperatury. Urządzenie powstaje i zostanie wdrożone przy udziale andrologów - lekarzy klinicystów i naukowców - z renomowanych ośrodków naukowych: Centrum Badań Przedklinicznych Warszawskiego Uniwersytetu Medycznego i Wojskowego Instytutu Medycznego. Prototyp urządzenia zostanie zoptymalizowany pod kątem komfortu użytkowania i efektywności klinicznej. Dzięki transmisji danych do aplikacji mobilnej możliwy będzie wygodny nadzór terapii przez pacjenta i lekarza oraz możliwość naukowej analizy.
