The first phase includes the development of a postprocessor for WEDM machine tools – Makino UPV-5 and Sodick AQ327L, cooperating with NX CAD/CAM software that will enable multi-axis programming of advanced geometry of inserts and tools. Studies will be carried out to verify dimensional shape of programmed sample profiles. Another important step is the development of guidelines for a system allowing automated cutting of PKD prefabricated prefabricated tool inserts. This will allow further preparatory work to take investment measures to equip the machine with additional instrumentation. Automating the process will allow more efficient use of the machine in non-human participation, weekend and night periods when workers are absent from work. Another very important step is research into the development of the cutting process of inserts using instrumentation for separating inserts, which when cutting with WEDM, fall to the bottom of the tank. This stage is intended to eliminate downtimes associated with manual extraction of inserts from the machine space, and at the time of execution will cut the segregation of the inserts. The project will contribute to automating the cutting and shaping of inserts, as well as to the creation of new products that cannot be sharpened with grinding (English)
