“Dragon Poland has a strong position on the domestic market in the construction chemicals industry. It produces over 350 packaged products available in 276 Polish cities and in several export countries. The aim of the project is to implement its own new technology and to launch on its basis the production of significantly improved, in relation to the so-far produced on the territory of the Republic of Poland, innovative, biocidal preparations creating a protective barrier against the growth of bacteria, fungi and algae for applications for wood and wood-based substrates as well as mineral substrates such as concrete, plaster, stone, etc. The protective preparations and coatings present on the market are mainly based on organic heavy metal derivatives (copper, zinc, tin), which aim, by slow release from the coating of active, biocidal or biostatic substances, to inhibit the development of undesirable biotopes on protected surfaces. However, these substances after entering land and surface water pose an immediate threat to the biological life of water reservoirs, as well as indirectly to man. As a result of the project, nonbiocidal preparations will be placed on the market to prevent the biodegradation of wood and mineral substrates, in which there will be no toxic biocidal substances to protect the resulting coating and the protected element against microgranisms. Protective effects of the preparations have been achieved through the use of a special composition of substances allowing the production of coatings with hydrophobic characteristics and at the same time of a strongly anti-adhesive nature, preventing the development of undesirable micro-organisms. The elimination of biocidal preparations has prevented the harmful effects of these substances on users’ health and the environment.” (English)

Działanie ochronne preparatów osiągnięto przez zastosowanie specjalnej kompozycji substancji umożliwiających wytworzenie powłok o cechach hydrofobowych i jednocześnie o charakterze silnie antyadhezyjnym, uniemożliwiających rozwój niepożądanych mikroorganizmów. (Polish)
