The project assumes the construction of a modular locomotive platform allowing for any configuration of a selected version of the locomotive according to customer requirements. The locomotive platform will include the following configurations: diesel-electric (two-speed) Diesel approx. 1800 kW/2800 kW 3 kV DC for passenger or freight traffic, electric (multi-system) approx. 5600 kW – 15 kV/16.7 Hz + 25 kV/50 Hz + 3 kV DC for passenger or freight traffic, electric (multi-system) approx. 5600 kW – 15 kV/16.7 Hz + 25 kV/50 Hz for passenger or freight traffic, electric (multi-system) approx. 5600 kW – 15 kV/16.7 Hz + 3 kV DC for passenger or freight traffic, electric (multi-system) approx. 5600 kW – 25 kV/50 Hz + 3 kV DC for passenger or freight traffic The aim of the project is to develop design documentation for two selected types of locomotives and to build a demonstration of a representative type of locomotive. The objective of the project will be achieved by using innovative methods of design and construction in a 3D environment that allows efficient layout of the equipment and optimisation of the locomotive mass. The final result of the project will be a demonstration of the locomotive in the form of a prototype built by PESA. The project’s results are to be transferred to the economy by developing a new product tested on a demonstration scale, making its commercialisation and starting serial production. Efektem końcowym projektu będzie demonstrator lokomotywy w postaci prototypu zbudowany przez PESA. Zakłada się transfer wyników projektu do gospodarki przez opracowanie nowego produktu przetestowanego w skali demonstracyjnej i dokonanie jego komercjalizacji oraz rozpoczęcie produkcji seryjnej.
