QNeuro will be an integrated eHealth system whose main tasks are: collection and presentation of EEG signals (and EEG video), analysis and inference based on signals, preparation and feedback to system recipients (patients, doctors) to refer to other cases in the system knowledge base so as to support the physician’s decision on the proposed treatment for the patient based on a case-by-case analysis. On the one hand, the system will help to reduce the problems associated with the heterogeneous and dispersed system of diagnosis and care for epilepsy patients and will enable knowledge among neurologists and pediatric neurologists to be broadened and, on the other hand, will enable some kind of “transfer” of diagnosis and monitoring progress in the treatment of epilepsy to the patient’s home. This will be made possible thanks to the system elements: homeEEG/homeVEEG, i.e. a home and simple to use EEG that allows you to conduct an EEG test at home by the patient without having to visit a specialist. clinic. An important element of the solution is the EpiEngine (DSS) decision support system, whose main task will be to continuously develop the knowledge base in the field of neurological diseases, in particular epilepsy and effective inference based on information contained in the knowledge base. EpiEngine will support doctors in diagnosing and proposing treatment methods for epilepsy patients. The applicant intends to achieve its objectives through the integrated work of the IT team and epileptologists, consisting of: perfecting the optimal system architecture and providing the data of the EpiEngine decision support system, bringing homeEEG/homeVEEG prototypes to a ready-to-implement form, combining individual elements into a single QNeuro system and carrying out its tests to compatibilise the system and develop performance parameters.
