Projekt stanowi odpowiedź na wyzwania stawiane w ramach Mapy potrzeb zdrowotnych w zakresie chorób układu nerwowego (neurologicznych wieku podeszłego) dla województwa opolskiego (WO). W społeczeństwie wzrasta zachorowanie na choroby otępienne i chorobę Alzheimera. W latach 2020–2029 dla grupy Choroba Alzheimera i inne otępienia prognozuje się w PL wzrost zapadalności rejestrowanej. W roku 2020 zapadalność rejestrowana będzie wynosiła 44 377, a do 2029 r. wzrośnie do 55 425 (wzrost o 25%). Zakładając wyłącznie zmiany demograficzne prognozuje się, że w WO zapadalność rejestrowana w latach 2020–2029 wzrośnie o 21,44%. W celu wydłużenia funkcjonowania tych osób w środowisku domowym niezbędna jest rehabilitacja pacjentów w celu poprawy ich funkcji poznawczych i zapobieganie szybkiemu postępowi choroby, poprawa i utrzymanie sprawności fizycznej. W ramach projektu zaplanowano przebudowę ze zmianą sposobu użytkowania budynku zakładu opiekuńczo-leczniczego SPZOZ w Głuchołazach oraz zakup niezbędnego sprzętu i wyposażenia w celu uruchomienia dziennego oddziału opieki i rehabilitacji osób z zaburzeniami neurologicznymi wieku podeszłego, w tym osób niepełnosprawnych (ON) (Kod świadczenia NFZ 4712 - dzienny oddział psychogeriatryczny). In order to extend the functioning of these persons in the domestic environment, it is necessary to rehabilitate patients in order to improve their cognitive function and to prevent rapid progress of the disease, improve and maintain physical fitness.
