    The project development of tourist – recreational potential and water tourism in Svetly and Malbork towns (PHASE 2) is applying for co-financing out of funds from the CBC Programme Poland – Russia, Thematic Objective HERITAGE: Promotion of local culture and preservation of historical heritage, Priority 1. Cooperating on historical, natural and cultural heritage for their preservation and cross-border development. Svetly and Malbork will contribute to the solution of the common challenge of the Programme area in a joint project: the development of the tourism potential of their cities, which have historical and cultural value. Thus overall objective of the LIP is to support the local culture and preservation of the historical heritage of the both towns and the development of water tourism between Kaliningrad oblast and the Republic of Poland as a whole through the use of International waterway E70. The project will lead to an increase in tourist activity and further tightening of cross-border cooperation with regard to common promotion of a rich tourist offer among Polish, Russian and foreign tourists. Malbork, being one of the most important Teutonic city, has a lot of medieval buildings and monuments. Nowadays a lot of effort is given to preserve heritage of Teutons in the whole town (including waterfronts close to the Teutonic Castle). The main outputs of the project: • Improvement of important historical, cultural and tourist facilities – a town waterfront (the promenade along the navigable sea canal with berths for pleasure craft) and the adjacent Town Park in Svetly, and city boulevards/waterfront with view point and playground in Malbork for subsequent increase tourism attractiveness through provision of new tourist facilities for tourists; • Preparation of technical documentation for the repair of the historic Old Town Hall in Malbork; • To provide collaborative efficient management of the Project by both cities (the result of close cooperation (Polish)
