According to the Bieszczady strategy and the analysis of the economic situation of Bieszczady in the recent decades, the driving force of development will be tourism. Bieszczady are supposed to have a recreational function – green lungs of the Podkarpackie Region. Two 'tourist hubs' are now operated: Solina Lake and High Bieszczady. There is a problem with overcrowding of land, and therefore the possibility of a loss of the values. Unfortunately, the remaining area, beautiful and rich in terms of landscape, is unavailable due to the unavailability of communication on both sides. Thus, the Bieszczady Poviat faced a new task of cross-border partnership expansion. Local authorities and organizations are aware of the fact that the accessibility of the region is a condition for its attractiveness to investors and tourists. The main objective of the project is to increase the availability of border areas of the Bieszczady Poviat and the Turka region through improved communication capacities of both regions. It is expected that as a result of the project development of tourism in areas so far inaccessible will be possible, what will contribute to strengthening regional economy, developing small and medium-sized enterprises and improving the living conditions of the residents. The main product of the project will be 15.515 km of modernized roads in the border region and a new development strategy for improving availability of adjacent areas. The Partnership created within the framework of this project will be a key one for the development of the regions. The Project assumes the cooperation of 2 partners from Poland and Ukraine and, as a consequence of its implementation, acquiring 5 new ones (2 from Poland and 3 from Ukraine). (English)
