The project’s subject is the development of a Slovak-Austrian research and museum cooperation on the topic of design and innovation in which the first research topics are already being worked on and current results presented. There is a plan to develop a think tank which will deal with the research regarding the newest knowledge in the field of design look for answers and solutions on the following guestion: How the humans can make the optimal use of the current technical progress stemming from the digital revolution and how to overcome undesirable developments. Project’s partner institutions are specialized institutions for design and applied art: SCD - Slovak Design Center, VSVU - Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and MAK - Austrian Museum of Applied Arts / Contemporary Art and Die Angewandte - University of Applied Arts in Vienna. The project is supported by 6 important strategic partners (Slovakia: Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Cvernovka Foundation and Municipality of Bratislava, Austria: Austrian Institute of Technolgy, Kunsthalle Wien and Architekturzentrum Wien). A new research department will be set up within the framework of the project in the SCD, VSVU will involve the institutes of design, textile and visual communication, the Austrian partners will work in existing structures (Department of Social Design - University of Vienna, MAK - "Department of Design and Digital Culture" which will be expanded to include the research topic).
