The cooperation area (CA) has high entrepreneurial potential, but is still suffering significant compression effects due to the economic crisis. The high percentage of SMEs present (92% of total active enterprises) means few opportunities for increasing employment, also due to the marked tendency among SMEs to only turn to regional and national markets. The potential of the cross-border market has still not been explored very much by Italian and French SMEs. It is therefore necessary to increase services to invigorate/support SMEs working within the priority supply chains in order to help them with their positioning on cross-border and international markets. The COCCODÉ project faces this challenge in an innovative way and intends to strengthen the specialisation of CA companies through actions to invigorate/acquire services able to promote, attract and generate investments and new cross-border business experiences in the priority supply chains. At the end of the 24 months of the project, 15 Italian and French MSMEs will have improved their competitiveness thanks to the provision of consulting and services worth € 317,000, and the development of five cross-border business plans. From a methodological point of view, COCCODÉ: a) organises opportunities for companies that are interested in exploring cross-border business opportunities and setting up ‘Cross-border Groups of Companies’ to ‘get to know’ each other (T1). b) makes it easier for cross-border groups of companies to obtain customised consulting and business support services that are useful for cross-border business (T2), also thanks to the service networks that have already been established (INVITRA, FRINET2). c) develops cross-border business plans in priority supply chains (T3). COCCODÉ benefits from skilled, highly specialised and well-established partnerships with seven facilitators (long-standing cooperation with: SAVOIR, INVITRA, OPERA, Invitra Jeunes) (English)
