In Interreg Atlantic Area, the economic and social importance of the industry and services related to sea is high, and shipbuilding industry has a significant tractor effect on a set of complementary activities carried out, in most cases, by SMEs. Consortex project aims to set up at least five export consortia formed by six or more European interregional SMEs specialized in the manufacture of certain built-in packages of naval production (bridge, engine room, accommodation and deck) for a certain type of shipbuilding (offshore vessels, marine power plants, cruise ships and scientific vessels) to improve their market positioning, sign contracts, and make international sales. While the goal of the consortia is innovation in marketing, their performance will be extended to all areas of the shipbuilding industry, such as innovation and technological development. And, within a Corporate Social Responsibility approach, the result will be a return to society and territory. This return will be based in taxes income for Public Authorities, employment, high technical qualifications of workers and environment protection. (English)
