The efforts made so far in the municipality of Vratsa in building infrastructure and the separate collection systems in place are not entirely sufficient and it is necessary to further provide opportunities for citizens, commercial sites, office buildings for high-quality separate collection of the recyclable waste generated by them, outside those covered by the separate collection systems of packaging waste and other widespread waste. The demonstration project will be implemented on the territory of the town of Vratsa, where the concentration of offices, shopping centers and administrative buildings prevails. It is planned to separate 10 sites on land owned by the municipality, and a set of 3 underground containers with a volume of 1.5 m³ will be located on each of these sites. The activities envisaged are: Preparation of a project; Implementation of a demonstration project; Campaigns to promote the results of the project and Organisation and management of the project and information and communication. The target group is the population, both residents on the territory of the municipality of Vratsa, as well as those from other 5 regional cities. The positive effects expected in the implementation of the demonstration project are: • Support the municipality of Vratsa in deciding to extend the scope of the system of separate collection of municipal waste beyond the obligations of the recovery organisations; • Increase in quantities of collected recyclable fractions of paper and cardboard, plastics and metals, and glass at the source of formation. Increasing amounts of biodegradable waste diverted from landfill by about 5 % of the amount of paper and cardboard generated, which represents about 80 t/year • Ensuring quality and clean fractions for subsequent recycling; • Cleanliness and lack of odours around the sites on which the containers are located; • An easily accessible system for separate collection close to the source of waste generation. Положените до сега усилия в Община Враца в изграждане на инфраструктура и въведените системи за разделно събиране не са напълно достатъчни и е необходимо допълнително да бъдат осигурени възможности на гражданите, търговските обекти, офис сградите за висококачествено разделно събиране на образуваните от тях рециклируеми отпадъци, извън тези обхванати от системите за разделно събиране на отпадъците от опаковки и останалите масово разпространени отпадъци. Демонстрационният проект ще се реализира на територията на град Враца, където преобладава концентрацията на офиси, търговски центрове и административни сгради. Предвижда се да бъдат обособени 10 броя площадки на терени собственост на общината, като на всяка една от тези площадки ще бъдат разположени комплект от 3 броя подземни контейнери с обем 1,5 м3. Предвидените дейности са: Подготовка на проект; Изпълнение на демонстрационен проект; Кампании за популяризиране на резултатите от проекта и Организация и управление на проекта и информация и комуникация. Целева група е населението, както живущите на територията на община Враца, така и тези от други 5 областни градове. Очакваните при реализацията на демонстрационния проект положителни ефекти са: • Подпомагане община Враца при вземане на решение за разширяване обхвата на системата на разделно събиране на битовите отпадъци, извън задълженията на организациите по оползотворяване; • Увеличаване на количества на събраните рециклируеми фракции от хартия и картон, пластмаси и метали, и стъкло при източника на образуване. Увеличаване на количества отклонени от депониране биоразградими отпадъци с около 5% от количеството на образуваните хартия и картон, което представлява около 80 т/г. • Осигуряване на качествени и чисти фракции за последващо рециклиране; • Чистота и липса на миризми около площадките на които са разположени контейнерите; • Лесно достъпна за гражданите система за разделно събиране в близост до източника на образуване на отпадъците.
