The organisation applying for funding is the Municipality of Heves City and the Heves Sports Association, the aim of the planned investment is to develop the Heves chess museum into a tourist attraction; boosting the tourism of the settlement and thus of the region. Currently, the Chess Museum, which is unique in Europe, is not exhibited in dignified conditions. The aim of the project is to renovate the building suitable for displaying the material of the Chess Museum, to present the material of the museum and to connect interactive elements to it, as well as to launch regular programs aimed at connecting and accessing tourism interested in playing chess. The building designed for this purpose, the former building of the former city children’s library, is in a staticly satisfactory condition, but the current position of the interiors is not suitable for performing functions of sufficient quality: after the renovation, the building fits both in size and style with the tourist plans of the town, it is perfect for the reception of the planned exhibitions, events and attractions. In addition, the project is logically linked to other tourist developments in Heves that are being implemented or planned — the renovation of the Halász mansion, the Pál Kő Memorial Museum, the development of the tourist attraction of Lake Vicán — together with which the city can offer complex cultural tourism packages. The essential elements of the project are as follows: A reception/call office and exhibition spaces for displaying the exhibited objects are set up in the building to accommodate visitors. In the immediate vicinity of the entrance, on the ground floor there is a new water block, women’s and men’s toilets, as well as a barrier-free toilet according to today’s expectations. In addition, a new kitchenette is being built on the ground floor. On the floor floor there will be two additional exhibition spaces, as well as the office and the associated storage and archives required for the operation. The staircase in the centre axis is equipped with a new casing and barrier. In order to ensure full accessibility, a new barrier-free lift will be made at the north end of the building, with a new reinforced concrete wall, which is designed in a new support structure. We want to make the level difference in front of the entrance accessible by landscaping. The development does not include the installation of the loft. During the renovation, the building will be renewed from the outside, the facade will be equipped with a new thermal insulation system, the existing windows will be replaced with new, modern plastic windows and doors. After the demolition of the road user, a new ceramic casing will be made, and the wet rooms will also be equipped with a new ceramic casing. A new heating system will be set up in the building, with a new combi condensing boiler and the installation of modern steel plate radiators. We design the exhibition spaces of the chess museum, the exhibition and its interactive program elements and tools in such a way as to provide a lasting experience for each of the target groups in the exhibition location, in terms of their commitment to chess, while complying with the requirements of the call. The main information about the founder and the most interesting pieces of the collection are placed in a library in the reception area. From a content point of view, the rigs, tables and interactive points of view created in the available area are used to display the following information: the history of chess is the rules of chess cultural aspects of chess, its appearance in legends, books, films, education chess as a game/war/sport chess and technology, fierce chess tradition. As a result of the development, the local and regional tourism offer is expected to expand, as the city of Heves can come up with a complex package of programs in the field of cultural tourism with the new services provided by the museum. Thus, the time spent by tourists in the area is a direct effect: tourists can spend 5-6 hours in connection with the guaranteed programmes; other events encourage a stay of 1-2 days. For summer chess camps planned by the city, the stay can be increased to one week. The development can be expected to have a positive impact on the region’s currently operating tourist service providers, as one of the objectives of the investment is to increase the number of guests through a variety of motivations and age groups. The growth of traffic will therefore be sustainable through well-targeted target group access, information and the provision of adequate standards. The aim is to make the services to be provided and the operators that are well-complemented, as sellers of quality products and service providers, accessible to tourists as an integral unit. The success of the development is guaranteed by the combination of complementary services and the search and organisation of cooperation opportunities. However, the pro... (English)

A támogatást igénylő szervezet Heves Város Önkormányzata és a Hevesi Sportegyesület, a tervezett beruházás célja a hevesi sakkmúzeum turisztikai attrakcióvá fejlesztése; a település, ezáltal a térség turizmusának fellendítése. Az épület a felújítást követően azonban mind méretében, mind stílusában illeszkedik a település turisztikai terveihez, kiválóan alkalmas a tervezett kiállítások, rendezvények, attrakciók befogadására. Emellett a projekt logikailag kapcsolódik Heves város más, megvalósítás alatt álló, vagy tervezett turisztikai fejlesztéseihez – Halász-kúria felújítása, Kő Pál emlékmúzeum, a Vicán-tó turisztikai attrakciófejlesztése – melyekkel együtt a város összetett kulturális turisztikai programcsomagokat tud kínálni. A projekt lényeges elemei a következők: Az épületben a látogatók fogadására porta / pénztár és a kiállított tárgyak bemutatására szolgáló kiállító terek kerülnek kialakításra. A bejárat előtti szintkülönbséget tereprendezéssel kívánjuk akadálymentessé tenni. A fejlesztés pozitív hatása várható a térség jelenleg működő turisztikai szolgáltatóira, mivel a beruházás egyik célja a vendégforgalom növelése többféle motiváció és korcsoport mentén. (Hungarian)

We design the exhibition spaces of the chess museum, the exhibition and its interactive program elements and tools in such a way as to provide a lasting experience for each of the target groups in the exhibition location, in terms of their commitment to chess, while complying with the requirements of the call.
