    A 201/2001 (X.25) sz. Korm.rend.-ben rögzített határértékek alapján a Pusztaegrest ellátó vízmű kútja által szolgáltatott víz ammónia tartalma határérték feletti. A nitrifikáció rendszeresen a hálózaton zajlik, ezért határérték fölötti a vízmű kimenőn és a hálózaton a nitrit értéke. Az említett rendelet 6. sz. mellékletében Pusztaegres nem szerepel. A 201/2001 (X.25) sz. Korm.rend.-ben rögzített határértékek alapján a Sárhatvan településrészt ellátó vízmű kútja által szolgáltatott víz ammónia tartalma határérték feletti. Az említett rendelet 6. sz. mellékletében Sárhatvan bór, ammónia és vas tekintetében kifogásolt. Pusztaegres A vízműnél 2 db mélyfúrású kút szolgáltatja a település ellátását biztosító vízmennyiséget .A kitermelhető vízmennyiség elegendő a biztonságos vízszolgáltatáshoz, de a víz minősége nem megfelelő. A vízvizsgálati eredményekből kitűnik, hogy a vas – mangán és ammónia tekintetében van határérték probléma. Ehhez igazodva a vízkezelésre olyan technológia kiválasztása volt szükséges, ami a szokványos gáztalanítás és vastalanítás mellett, megoldja az ammónia, eltávolítás kérdését.
