Out of the five international transport corridors passing through Hungary at the Third European Transport Conference held in Helsinki from 23 to 25 June 1997, the designation of the Ploce — Sarajevo — Osijek — Budapest route V/c was crucial for the construction of the M6 motorway. The preparation of the construction started in 1998 with the preparation of a network development study, which examined possible pathways within the national borders, taking into account the needs of Hungary. Based on the results of the network development study, an in-depth study of the national border route corridor of Budapest — Dunaújváros — Szekszárd — Bóly — started in 1999, and the development of possible track variants, their evaluation and comparison with the aim of identifying the most appropriate route. The construction started on the Érditető — Dunaújváros section in 2004, with the handover of the construction sections Dunaújváros — Szekszárd and Szekszárd — Bóly from the M0 road to Bóly, together with the section of the connecting M60 motorway between Bóly — Pécs. However, the construction of the section of the M6 motorway between Bóly — Ivándárda, national border, was not built, given that the entire project was omitted from the government programme for 2007-2013. A feasibility study has been carried out with the following design parameters: Main technical parameters of the project: • Road category: Design class K.I.A. • Design speed: 130 km/h • Domborzati relationship: flatland 20.5 km long highway, with a crown width of 26.60 m, together with the M60 separation junction with 4 separate level junctions, 1 complex resting place and 1 simple rest area, 2 valley bridges. Az 1997. június 23-25 között Helsinkiben tartott Harmadik Összeurópai Közlekedési Konferencián a Magyarországon átvezető öt nemzetközi közlekedési folyosó közül az V/c. jelű Ploce - Szarajevó - Eszék - Budapest útvonal kijelölése meghatározó fontosságú volt az M6 autópálya megépítése szempontjából. Az építés előkészítése 1998-ban kezdődött hálózatfejlesztési tanulmány készítésével, ami a magyarországi igények figyelembe vételével megvizsgálta az országhatáron belül lehetséges nyomvonalfolyosókat. A hálózatfejlesztési tanulmány eredményei alapján 1999-ben kezdődött a Budapest - Dunaújváros - Szekszárd - Bóly - országhatár nyomvonalfolyosó részletes tanulmánytervi vizsgálata, a lehetséges nyomvonal változatok kidolgozása, azok értékelése és összehasonlítása a legmegfelelőbb nyomvonal kijelölése céljából. Megvalósíthatósági tanulmány elkészült a következő tervezési paraméterekkel: A projekt főbb műszaki paraméterei: • Útkategória: K.I.A. tervezési osztály • Tervezési sebesség: 130 km/h • Domborzati viszony: síkvidék 20,5 km hosszú autópálya, 26,60 m koronaszélességgel, az M60 elválási csomóponttal együtt 4 db külön szintű csomóponttal, 1 db komplex pihenőhely, és 1 db egyszerű pihenőhely kialakításával, 2 db völgyhíddal került megtervezésre.
