UAB „Riestlita“ verslo pradžia prasidėjo nuo 1994-ųjų metų. Bendrovės vykdoma veikla - duonos ir konditerijos gaminių gamyba, įmonė specializuojasi riestainių, meduolių, sausainių ir traškučių gamyboje. UAB "RIESTLITA" gamybą vykdo Mažeikiuose, Lietuvoje. UAB "Riestlita " yra vidutinė pramonės įmonė ir gamybos proceso metu patiria dideles energijos sąnaudas. Šiuo metu įmonė gamybos procese naudoja įvairias energijos rūšis: elektros energiją, įvairų kurą. Siekiant didesnio energetinio efektyvumo, bendrovė projekto metu numato investuoti į atsinaujinančią energetiką įrengiant saulės fotovoltinę elektrinę. Įdiegus atsinaujinančią energiją naudojančias priemones bus pasiekta ne tik finansinė, tačiau ir ekonominė (socialinė) nauda. Gamykloje įdiegus saulės energijos jėgainę sumažės į aplinką išmetamų šiltnamio efektą sukeliančių dujų ir kitų orą teršiančių emisijų kiekiai, todėl sumažės aplinkos užterštumo lygis. (Lithuanian)
