Tornedalen Folkhögskola, Övertorneå municipality, and Arbetsförmedlingen wants to support new methods that will enable the long term unemployed and/or disabled to become employed. We want to create a basis for work integrating social enterprise in Övertorneå. This would enable opening up more opportunities for those in the target group who are interested into developing into entrepeneurs, in order to create their own jobs, and simultaneously the same business should also have opportunities for people even further from the labor market to develop employability through work training. Övertorneå municipality is prepared to offer the recycling store as a starting point. The participants will be able to develop the business based on their own knowledge and experience, as well as create a foundation to widen the area of business. This project will function as a greenhouse for the entire range of people who are long-term unemployed and various degrees of disabilities. Through this project, we want to infuse knowledge about social enterprising in those participants that are motivated to develop their entrepreneurship. We also want to take part of knowledge and experiences from work integrating social enterprises in other places, which can help us structure the project and simultaneously access methods and material, such as language workshops for those stuck in their SFI studies. This is a three year collaborative project. After the end of the project, some participants will be ready to run a work integrating social enterprise according to the developed model.
