De Jong is the oldest Dutch specialist in the field of concrete drilling and sawing technology. In 1965 they introduced a new technology for Europe, namely diamond drilling. As a pioneer, de Jong has often been the cradle of innovative technologies that were thought to be impossible at the time but which are commonplace today. There is therefore no drilling and saw specialism that is not carried out by De Jong. The organisation now consists of 6 operating companies and has about 65 permanent employees. In addition, about 15 employees are hired through subcontractors. But despite all these developments in the years behind us, one thing has remained unchanged. Our services continue to work for people. De Jong invests a lot in his staff and wants to be a good employer and entrepreneur, avoid absenteeism as much as possible and offer the employees a pleasant, social and responsible working environment throughout their career (in the broadest sense of the word). De Jong has therefore also had an analysis of how she can improve on that point. The management considers the time to take a next step and therefore wants to use the results of the research to promote healthy and safe working. The research carried out revealed, inter alia, the following points: • Physical factors and load, such as pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying. • Physical factors: exposure to hard noise, exposure to climate factors (heat, cold, rain, sun), vibration exposure (hand/arm and whole body). • Workload and stress. On the basis of these findings, a plan of action has been drawn up, namely to stimulate culture and behaviour. This is aimed not only at safe and healthy work, but on safety and health in general. Safety and health must become an integral part of the daily life of employees. The Young Group wants to support them as much as possible by means of the project “Promoting safe and healthy working”! (Dutch)
