The overall objective of the project is to reduce the amount of landfilled biodegradable waste generated on the territory of the municipality of Lom through separate collection and recovery of green and/or biodegradable municipal waste. This objective is in line with the waste management hierarchy and the European and national targets for the gradual reduction of the amount of biodegradable municipal waste destined for landfilling. The project also contributes to improving resource efficiency, as a result of the investment the waste will be converted into a resource — compost. The specific objective of the project is to provide the necessary infrastructure for separate collection and recovery of biodegradable municipal waste on the territory of the municipality of Lom. The project will build a composting plant with a capacity of 3 004 t/y. As a result of the implementation of the project, a composting plant will be built, which will process separately collected green and/or biodegradable municipal waste from the settlements on the territory of Lom and produce high quality compost. The necessary trucks and containers will be provided for the introduction of the system for separate collection and transport to the composting plant of the collected waste. The socio-economic benefits of the project are aimed at improving the quality of the environment for the residents of the municipality of Lom by reducing the harmful emissions associated with the landfilling of waste; providing a new type of waste service to residents and businesses in the municipality and high quality compost. New jobs needed for the operation of the built infrastructure will also be created. (English) | |||||||||||||||

Общата цел на проекта е да се намали количеството депонирани биоразградими отпадъци, генерирани на територията на община Лом, чрез разделното събиране и оползотворяване на зелените и/или биоразградимите битови отпадъци. Тази цел е в съответствие с йерархията за управление на отпадъците и с европейските и националните цели за поетапно намаляване на количествата на биоразградимите битови отпадъци, предназначени за депониране.Проектът допринася и за подобряване на ресурсната ефективност, като в резултат от инвестицията отпадъкът ще сепревръща в ресурс – компост.Специфичната цел на проекта е да се осигури необходимата инфраструктура за разделно събиране и оползотворяванена биоразградими битови отпадъци на територията на община Лом. По проекта ще бъде изградена компостираща инсталация с капацитет 3004 т/г.В резултат от изпълнението на проекта ще бъде изградена компостираща инсталация, която ще преработва разделно събрани зелени и/или биоразградими битови отпадъци от населените места на територията на Лом и ще произвежда висококачествен компост. Ще бъдат осигурени и необходимите камиони и контейнери за въвеждане на системата за разделно събиране и транспортиране до компостиращата инсталация на събраните отпадъци.Социално-икономическите ползи от изпълнение на проекта са насочени към подобряване на качеството на околната среда за жителите в община Лом чрез намаляване на свързаните с депонирането на отпадъци вредни емисии; предоставяне на нов тип услуга относно отпадъците на жителите и бизнеса в общината и на висококачествен компост.Ще бъдат разкрити и нови работни места, необходими за експлоатация на изградената инфраструктура.
