The proposed project complements and develops project BG051PO001-3.3.07 “Student Practices” under OP HRD 2007-2013, where the successfully completed student practices are over 46 000. By 2017 the procedures, web platform, control systems and mechanisms for the implementation of practical training in vocational schools will be used, developed and approved. The project fully fits into the context of the set European and national goals for improving the access and quality of vocational education and training, according to the needs of the economy and the changes in the labour market. The goal of improving the correspondence between vocational education and business requirements and facilitating the transition from education to employment is set in Europe 2020 and in the National Development Programme Bulgaria 2020. Educational outcomes should be mainly tailored to the needs of the regional and local labour market. One of the main challenges described in the Strategy for the Development of Vocational Education and Training in the Republic of Bulgaria for the period 2015-2020 are: making initial vocational and continuing vocational training an attractive learning opportunity; ensuring flexible access to training and qualification; increasing the number of pupils in vocational schools. One of the national targets for meeting the Europe 2020 targets is to increase jobs by 2020. Achieving this requires a higher level of professional skills. Through the creation of training firms (ETF) in schools and the participation of students in practice in a real working environment, they will be encouraged to develop transversal skills that enable them to be entrepreneurial and adapt more easily to changes in the labour market, which in turn will facilitate the transition from education to employment and help reduce youth unemployment.
