This project proposal provides for the implementation of a demonstration project for waste management in Zlataritsa Municipality, V.Tarnovo District, with leading partner “El Zet Varna” EOOD. The envisaged measures deal with separate collection and recycling of textile waste, as well as a public campaign to promote and collect it. The project is based on good practices for separate collection from the municipality of Albano Laziale (Italy) and for a mechanical recycling approach of textile waste realised on the territory of Barcelona, Spain Data from the developed reports and morphology in Zlataritsa municipality demonstrate that textile waste accounts for an average of 2.08 % of the total amount of municipal waste generated. There is currently no system for treating household textile waste on the territory of the municipality, it is not included in the regional system. The lack of adequate infrastructure for separate collection and recovery of this type of waste from the population makes it impossible to meet the requirements of national and European waste management legislation (Directive 2008/98), including after the EU circular economy legislative package. This project proposal provides for the implementation of separate collection measures for a period of 12 months of around 11.26 t. textile waste, as well as its subsequent recycling through a recycling plant. The planned campaign to promote the results of the project is aimed at the general public with an emphasis on the young generation, including the institutions and structures involved in waste management. The measures envisaged aim to increase the public awareness of compliance with the household waste management hierarchy, which will contribute to the transition to a circular economy and provide conditions for the formation of a zero-waste society, in line with the objectives of the procedure. The eligible costs of the project amount to BGN 390 900 over a period of 18 months. (English) | |||||||||||||||

(Bulgarian)
