    THE PULMONARY SURFACTANT IS AN ESSENTIAL LIPOPROTEIC COMPLEX FOR PHYSICAL STABILISATION OF THE RESPIRATORY SURFACE IN THE LUNGS OF MAMMALS, AND ITS LACK OR DEFICIENCY IS ASSOCIATED WITH SEVERE RESPIRATORY PATHOLOGIES. ALTHOUGH ITS MAIN FUNCTION IS TO DRASTICALLY REDUCE THE SURFACE TENSION IN THE ALVEOLAR AIR-LIQUID INTERFACE, THE CURRENT VISION IS THAT THE SURFACTANT ESTABLISHES A COMPLEX NETWORK OF MEMBRANES THAT SIMULTANEOUSLY MODULATES INNATE DEFENSE MECHANISMS AGAINST POTATOES AND PROCESSES OF TRANSPORT AND DIFUSION OF SOLUTES AND GASES. The surfactant NETWORK ACTUARY AS A PROTECTOR AGENT WILL ALSO AS A WHITE WHAT WHEN THE CONVERING THE MOBILICATION OF MULTITITITY OF MOULCULAR AND SUPRAMOLOLULAR ENTITIES._x000D_ the present PROPOSED PART OF THIS INTEGRATED VISION OF THE Surfactant NETWORK STRUCTURE to follow by deepening the ESSENTIAL ASPECT STUDY FOR THE COMPRENSION OF YOUR MOLECULAR MECHANISMES AND FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF Biotechnological Applications That Permit to Monitor, Restorate, and Intervene Surfactant Network As Basse of Improved Diagnostic and Treatments in Respirative MEDICINE._x000D_ fundamental OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT would be (a) Identification of STRUCTURE-FUNCTURE DETERMINATIONS in supramolecular combinations of surfactant’s PROTEINS, as in their natural environment as well as in pathological conditions, (B) COMPRENSION OF MOLECULAR AND CELULAY MECHANISMES, storage and secretion of the surfactant, and C) the development of materials and methods that expand the opportunities for therapeutic treatment: PREPARATIONS OF SURFACTANT RESISTANT TO INACTIVACION AND NEW STRATEGIES OF VEHICULISATION (FROM PHARMACOS, PROTEINS, NUCLEIC ACIDS, NANOENSAMBLADOS) BASED ON THEIR INTEGRATION INTO THE SURFACTANT NETWORK. ALSO, THE PROPOSAL INTEGRATES COLLABORATION WITH SEVERAL RESEARCH GROUPS IN DIFFERENT MODELS OF RESPIRATORY PATHOLOGIES TO PURSUE THE ELABORATION OF AN INTEGRATED SCHEME THAT INTERPRETS THE ROLE OF SURFACTANT AND ITS ALTERATION IN PATHOGENESIS AND IN THE DETECTION AND TREATMENT OF ACUTE AND CHRONIC RESPIRATORY PATHOLOGIES.
