EL PROYECTO COORDINADO XCORE TIENE COMO OBJETIVO DESARROLLAR LAS TECNOLOGIAS NECESARIAS PARA CONVERTIR LA FIBRA MULTI-NUCLEO EN UNA SOLUCION VIABLE Y AVANZADA TECNOLOGICAMENTE PARA REDES OPTICAS DE ACCESO Y DE TRANSPORTE CELULAR, CON LA VENTAJAS DE PROPORCIONAR UN MENOR COSTE DE DESPLIEGUE (MENOR OBRA CIVIL CON MINIMO IMPACTO VISUAL EN SU CASO), Y CON MAYOR CAPACIDAD DE TRANSMISION. PARA ELLO XCORE, A TRAVES DEL SUBPROYECTO M3CORE, CENTRADO EN LA TECNOLOGIA FOTONICA, DESARROLLA DOS NUEVAS TECNICAS DE ACOPLO Y DESACOPLO: UNA BASADA EN EL ACOPLO POR CAMPO EVANESCENTE QUE PERMITE INYECTAR Y EXTRAER LA INFORMACION DE DISTINTOS USUARIOS (RED DE ACCESO), Y OTRA BASADA EN EL ACOPLO A UNA ESTRUCTURA INTEGRADA FOTONICA (PIC), DESTINADA A LA RED DE TRANSPORTE CELULAR, BASADA EN UN CONJUNTO DE REDES DE DIFRACCION A ESCALA NANOMETRICA. EL PROYECTO TAMBIEN DESARROLLA UNA FUENTE OPTICA PARA FIBRA MULTI-NUCLEO BASADA EN LA GENERACION DE PEINES OPTICOS RECONFIGURABLES. A SU VEZ XCORE DESARROLLA LAS TECNICAS DE MULTIPLEXACION ADECUADAS A LOS DOS ESCENARIOS PROPUESTOS: SCM-PAM PARA RED DE ACCESO, Y TWDM SDM-PAM PARA RED DE TRANSPORTE CELULAR CON UN REGIMEN BINARIO DE 480 GBIT/S. ESTE PROYECTO COORDINADO, ADEMAS DE LA TECNOLOGIA OPTICA, DESARROLLA LAS TECNICAS DE PROCESADO DIGITAL NECESARIAS PARA CONSEGUIR UNA CORRECTA TEMPORIZACION, COMPENSAR EL EFECTO DE ACOPLOS NO-IDEALES, COMPENSAR LAS DEGRADACIONES DE LA TRANSMISION EN LA MODULACION PAM-SCM, ELIMINAR LA DIAFONIA ENTRE NUCLEOS EN LA MODULACION TWDM SDM PAM, ASI COMO AÑADIR UN ESQUEMA DE CORRECCION DE ERRORES FEC ADECUADO A LA TRANSMISION EN FIBRA MULTI-NUCLEO, SIENDO ESTAS ACTIVIDADES DESARROLLADAS EN EL SUB-PROYECTO OPTODSP. XCORE SE DESARROLLA DE MANERA COORDINADA ENTRE LOS DOS SUBPROYECTOS: M3CORE, CENTRADO EN EL DESARROLLO DE LA TECNOLOGIA FOTONICA; Y OPTODSP, CENTRADO EN EL PROCESADO DIGITAL DE LA SEÑAL OPTICA. AMBOS SON IMPRESCINDIBLES PARA OBTENER UNA SOLUCION TECNICAMENTE VENTAJOSA SOBRE EL ESTADO DEL ARTE._x000D_ CONVIENE DESTACAR QUE ENTRE LOS OBJETIVOS DEL PROYECTO SE ENCUENTRA LA TRANSFERENCIA DE RESULTADOS AL ENTORNO. PARA ELLO, CUENTA CON EL APOYO Y COLABORACION DE UNA EMPRESA DE AMBITO EUROPEO, HUAWEI EUROPA, OTRA DE AMBITO NACIONAL, TELEFONICA I+D Y UNA PYME DE ALTA TECNOLOGIA DE LA COMUNITAT VALENCIANA, DAS PHOTONICS S.L. ADEMAS, XCORE INCLUYE UN ESTUDIO TECNO-ECONOMICO DE LA TECNOLOGIA DE TRANSMISION MULTI-NUCLEO DESARROLLADA, COMO PRIMER PASO PARA LA PROTECCION INTELECTUAL Y VALORACION TECNOLOGICA ANTE POSIBLE LICENCIATARIOS DE LAS PATENTES QUE PUEDAN DESARROLLARSE DURANTE EL PROYECTO. THE XCORE COORDINATED PROJECT AIMS TO DEVELOP THE TECHNOLOGIES NEEDED TO CONVERT THE MULTI-CORE FIBER INTO A VIABLE AND TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED SOLUTION FOR OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORKS AND CELLULAR TRANSPORT, WITH THE ADVANTAGES OF PROVIDING A LOWER COST OF DEPLOYMENT (MINOR CIVIL WORK WITH MINIMAL VISUAL IMPACT WHERE APPLICABLE), AND WITH GREATER TRANSMISSION CAPACITY. TO DO THIS, XCORE, THROUGH THE M3CORE SUBPROJECT, FOCUSED ON PHOTONIC TECHNOLOGY, DEVELOPS TWO NEW COUPLING AND DECOUPLING TECHNIQUES: ONE BASED ON THE COUPLING BY EVANESCENT FIELD THAT ALLOWS INJECTING AND EXTRACTING INFORMATION FROM DIFFERENT USERS (ACCESS NETWORK), AND ANOTHER BASED ON THE ATTACHMENT TO AN INTEGRATED FOTONICA STRUCTURE (PIC), INTENDED FOR THE CELLULAR TRANSPORT NETWORK, BASED ON A SET OF NANOMETRIC SCALE DIFFRACTION NETWORKS. THE PROJECT ALSO DEVELOPS AN OPTIC SOURCE FOR MULTI-CORE FIBER BASED ON THE GENERATION OF RECONFIGURABLE OPTIONAL COMBS. IN TURN XCORE DEVELOPS THE MULTIPLEXACION TECHNIQUES APPROPRIATE TO THE TWO SCENARIOS PROPOSED: SCM-PAM FOR ACCESS NETWORK, AND TWDM SDM-PAM FOR CELLULAR TRANSPORT NETWORK WITH A BINARY REGIME OF 480 GBIT/S. THIS COORDINATED PROJECT, IN ADDITION TO THE OPTICAL TECHNOLOGY, DEVELOPS THE DIGITAL PROCESSING TECHNIQUES NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE A CORRECT TIMING, COMPENSATE FOR THE EFFECT OF NON-IDEAL COUPLINGS, COMPENSATE FOR THE DEGRADATIONS OF THE TRANSMISSION IN THE PAM-SCM MODULATION, ELIMINATE DIAFONIA BETWEEN NUCLEUS IN THE TWDM SDM PAM MODULATION, AS WELL AS ADD AN APPROPRIATE FEC ERROR CORRECTION SCHEME TO THE MULTI-NUCLEUS FIBER TRANSMISSION, THESE ACTIVITIES BEING DEVELOPED IN THE OPTODSP SUB-PROJECT. XCORE IS DEVELOPED IN A COORDINATED MANNER BETWEEN THE TWO SUB-PROJECTS: M3CORE, FOCUSED ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF PHOTONIC TECHNOLOGY; AND OPTODSP, FOCUSED ON THE DIGITAL PROCESSING OF THE OPTICAL SIGNAL. Both are involved in the implementation of a technically sold solution on the status of Article._x000D_ AGREEMENT that enters into the subject of the project. TO THIS END, IT HAS THE SUPPORT AND COLLABORATION OF A COMPANY WITH A EUROPEAN SCOPE, HUAWEI EUROPE, ANOTHER OF NATIONAL SCOPE, R & D TELEPHONIC AND A HIGH-TECH SME OF THE VALENCIAN COMMUNITY, DAS PHOTONICS S.L. IN ADDITION, XCORE INCLUDES A TECHNOLOGICAL-ECONOMIC STUDY OF THE TECHNOLOGY OF MULTI-NUCLEUS TRANSMISSION DEVELOPED, AS A FIRST STEP FOR INTELLECTUAL PROTECTION AND TECHNOLOGICAL EVALUATION BEFORE POSSIBLE LICENSEES OF THE PATENTS THAT MAY BE DEVELOPED DURING THE PROJECT.
