En abordant le rôle probable joué par les phages dans les transferts de gènes au niveau environnemental, ce projet novateur et ambitieux permettra d'améliorer notre compréhension des liens entre les changements environnementaux causés par les activités humaines et l'émergence de bactéries résistantes aux antibiotiques responsables de notre incapacité croissante à traiter des maladies infectieuses habituellement curables. By addressing the likely role phages play in gene transfer at the environmental level, this innovative and ambitious project will improve our understanding of the links between the environmental changes caused by human activities and the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria that are responsible for our growing inability to treat usually curable infectious diseases.
